McCaleb is considered by his peers and consumers to be one of the leading experts in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

What is Stellar?

Stellar is a recently upgraded blockchain protocol intended to be used for banking purposes. It was co-founded by Jed McCaleb, who has previously been involved in the cryptocurrency industry through such companies as Mt. Gox and Ripple.

With Stellar, companies can provide cheaper financial options to consumers. Stellar provides the possibility for financial institutions to conduct business together at cheaper costs than believe possible. The costs are then passed on to the consumer.

Stellar primarily works with financial companies in developing countries. Some of the institutions made possible with Stellar are Hijro, Mifos, Distributed Labs, and Oradian.

Stellar most recently teamed up with IBM to bring international financial options in the South Pacific. This marks Stellars biggest leap forward to date and may be a sign of a bright future.

About Jed McCaleb

Prior to jumping into the blockchain industry, Jed McCaleb worked to reinvent P2P file sharing. In 2000, Jed McCaleb created eDonkey, a P2P protocol that allowed users to download files from hundred of users simultaneously. P2P Programs and Torrenting software still use similar technology to this day.

Jed McCaleb then created Mt. Gox a platform for Magic: The Gathering Online players to trade cards. Mt. Gox only served its original purpose for a short time, however. Jed realized that the technology he used to create Mt. Gox could be used for so much more and turned it into the world’s first bitcoin exchange.

Doe Deere’s Lime Crime Helps People Feel Comfortable in Own Skin

As a young girl, Doe Deere dreamed of being a musician. She did not set out to be a famous musician, although that would have been nice, but just to make a living doing what she loved. What she did not know was that music would lead her to fulfill her true calling as an entrepreneur and fashion icon.

As a young girl growing up in Russia, the bright lights of the Big Apple and Hollywood were the farthest thing from Doe Deere’s mind. She knew she loved music and being herself but had no idea what life had in store for her. She certainly did not know that being a business owner is how she would make her mark. Her life had a foreshadowing moment at the age of 13, however, when she would start a small business by selling temporary tattoos to her friends at school. Years later, and a few thousands miles away, that would come full circle.

She moved to New York City at the young age of 17 under the guise of attending the Fashion Institute of New York. Sure, she loved fashion and making a statement, but she loved playing music. Her band had relatively moderate success over the next 10 years, as Doe lived and studied in the Big Apple. Her true calling came when she decided that makeup and fashion was what was going to allow her to be herself. She began living only for herself, dressing for herself, and wearing makeup for herself. This may her seem eclectic and eccentric to some, but to others it made her special.

After moving out West to California with her husband and business partner, Doe created her makeup line, Lime Crime. It brought bright colors and flair to makeup and her most popular item, liquid lipstick, was a huge hit among celebrities. Doe Deere was now on the map as an innovative, edgy, and hip fashion icon. Lime Crime encouraged young men AND women to use makeup and fashion to express who they are on the inside and for many it was liberating. Doe believes that people should express who they are by using makeup, lipstick, hair color, and what they wear. Only then can we be true to ourselves and to others. Sticking out was never a problem for her as she has helped an entire generation become more comfortable in their own skin. Learn more: http://limecrime.tumblr.com/
